Correction: MSNBC just said that the Cop is indeed white, so the Darren Wilson that is black is the wrong Darren Wilsom. The Cop is white.

Previous reports were that the department has about 50 officers, of whom only two or three are black, so the odds were against the shooter being black.

Assuming he isn’t black, look upthread for examples (including, temporarily, mine) of how quickly people assume conclusions that they want to be true actually are.

MSNBC is not a reliable source. They may be right, but if so it is purely a matter of chance.

It is like drawing a card from a deck. If every single time you say it is the ace of spades, you will be right approximately 1/52 of the time.
