Nearly a week after a police officer shot and killed Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., police on Friday identified the officer as Darren Wilson.
Wilson is a six-year veteran of the Ferguson police with no disciplinary record, Ferguson police chief Thomas Jackson said at a news conference on Friday morning.
Jackson provided few other details about Wilson at the news conference and did not take any questions. He said that Wilson had been responding to a call shortly before noon on Saturday when there was a 911 call regarding a “strong-arm robbery” at a convenience store.
A description of a possible suspect was given over the radio, saying this person was walking toward the QuickTrip convenience store in Ferguson. An incident report handed out by police on Friday labeled Brown as a suspect in the convenience store robbery, which involved the theft of some Swisher Sweets cigars.
Wilson left the call he had been responding to and encountered Brown on Canfield Drive at 12:01 p.m., Jackson said.

Funny story one about people looking at us. He and I and another girl went to this redneck bar to play pool. We decided to play some music. They has Sinatra in the juke box. So here we are drunk as skunks singing Sinatra songs. The red necks were thankfully, quite amused.
I guess the next step is for NBC news to manufacture some racist statements for any person with any connection to the cop.

The black officer posted on this thread is St. Louis policeman, not the one named in Ferguson shooting.

I understand that guy was not in the force six years. I don’t know. I’m waiting for confirmation.
I’ve noted that discrepancy and I’m betting that you are right.
I did find that there are only 3 blacks out of the 53 officers on the Ferguson Police Department. If so, the likelihood that the Ferguson Darren Wilson is black is about one chance in sixteen.
OTOH, maybe this guy transferred from the St. Louis PD to the Ferguson PD six years ago. Possible.
In any case you can bet there is a real race on to find a photo of the real guy. The WP, the NYT, the LAT and the rest need to put this “Black Darren Wilson” story in the trash heap mucho pronto.
It’s like the crazies in the middle east ... that the USA makes films of things that happen but never did happen.

I’m waiting to see an actual confirmed picture of the officer. The fact that the MSM has not plastered the guys face every where,leads me to believe he is black. But I am going to wait.

People in general have become too quick to dismiss contradictory evidence when it crushes a particular favorite thought or theory.
Maybe human beings have always been this way but it seems easier in today’s world to believe in a “conspiracy” than face the ugly uncomfortable truth. At least for some.
