Yeah... the shorts, the laceless sneakers, and the white fringe around the shirt sleeves match. Can’t tell about the shirt pattern because the after-incident photo is a bit washed out.
Easy to see why he was stopped—not many guys like that around. Less clear why he was shot from a distance multiple times.
Right now, I think the only evidence we have that he was "shot from a distance" is the account of his accomplice. About all we know for sure is that he was shot, and that he fell down 35 feet from the police car.
He's a big dude. If he was shot from six feet away, and managed to get five strides before he fell down, that would put him at about 35 feet away.
