Used to be if it wasnt visible from the road there was an excellent chance you could put a small out building on your property without a building permit or it showing up on your property tax assessment.
Now the tax assessment folks will be able to look at your property from space and compare the satellite picture of your property with your tax assessment description and wham bam thank you sir you a down for all of those improvements to your property.

They have been able to do that for years with existing tech. Not hard to make out a building.
I’ve figured the angle of the satellite in relation to my house and was thinking about position a mirror to reflect in its direction. I noticed in the google image of my house a sheet of white plastic in my yard took out some area of my yard from view. I’m wondering if more direct glare from a mirror would increase the effect.
Of course I’d likely hear from the FAA.

They have been doing that for years! I have seen lots of county sites that have a satellite photo of the home linked to the property record.
Two years ago, Harris County TX went through the roles and made massive changes to assessments based on property locations using satellite imagery.
