Group files complaint over UNO statement urging end to 'demonization' of unaccompanied migrant kids

A Nebraska conservative group filed a complaint last week against the University of Nebraska at Omaha after taking issue with a statement its researchers issued on unaccompanied children entering the United States.

The statement, issued jointly by UNO’s Office of Latino/Latin American Studies and The Heartland Workers Center, called for an end to the “demonization” of children fleeing from Mexico and Central America and for Congress to reject measures that would roll back protections for the children. The statement initially included a call for action and the phone numbers for lawmakers.
