I can never forgive Suicide. Cowards way out. I've never been suicidal. I'm of the "this too will pass" philosophy. But if I were comtemplating it I think I would be afraid to do it.

While in the military, I’ve always said if captured by Al Qada, I would save the last bullet for myself. It is not fear that made me vow this, but rather the satisfaction of not letting them parade me around as a prisoner.

They are more afraid of facing life than of the terrible act of suicide.
We have poor treatment for this type of illness. What we do is as much harm as nothing. Chemical poisons, push for self reliance, abandonment of spiritual aid — all formulas for the worst outcome.

Sounds like you have a normal healthy brain. I've seen what bipolar does and in a manic state, it is horrifying to be a part of.

As a teenager I had thoughts also however what stop me from doing it was not the fear of doing it but the fear of what happens afterward. I knew I would stand before God and looking back I am glad I didn’t.

I always think of Suicide as a "feel sorry for me" attention grab.
Jumping in a wood chipper on a burning boat 100-miles out to sea
