All restaurants effected by these laws, will pass along the cost to the consumers. Instead of adding it to the bill (which I like because it shows what the government is doing) they will simply raise prices on various items a few cents here and there to make up the difference. YOU pay regardless. No business can allow its profit margin to be used to pay for a Government program (minimum wage) and stay in business.

I’ve eaten there. Liberal tolerance is such an amazing thing to watch! Seems to me he made a very fair assessment based on the transaction but got blasted by liberals because the larger purchasers were not charged more; i.e. a progressive tax. Liberals will point out that he would make a profit with the new, higher assessment and that this is a good thing in that he will now pay more revenue to the state. Never mind that the person paying a higher assessment may be struggling to support or treat a large family. Gee, kind of sounds like our tax system, ignore a fair tax and stick to a progressive one.

Great idea-why would anyone be upset about actually seeing what laws are costing? The extra expense of govn mandated minimum wage has to come from somewhere and that is out of the consumer’s pocket. A business can’t print money out of thin air like the government does. A business has to balance its budget or close the doors as do we in our personal financial lives. All receipts should be required to be clearly labeled as to cost of goods plus govn mandated costs.

all emplyees should get gross wages including the unemployment and workers comp and social security they hide by saying the employer pays and let the the employee pay it all.

The company I worked for would send out an annual benefit statement which included gross cost of your employment to the company and broke down where that money went.

I agree. That's why VATs are so dangerous...no one realizes how much of what they pay is going to taxes. Same with the minimum wage. Let the people know what the CommieLib agenda is costing them, and maybe they won't be so quick to sit on their butts next time a Tea Party candidate is running against a chicken a**, do-nothing GOP-E incumbent in the primary.

The cafe owner is doing nothing more, or less, than letting their customers understand that THEY, the customers WILL wind up paying for any “minimum wage”, in the prices.

Customers supporting the government mandated minimum wage have no right to be complaining about that revelation and THEY should be happy to pay it. Customers who do not support the government mandated minimum wage should be grateful the cafe owner is helping to better inform their friends.

At one time, the big oil companies in Illinois started posting a list of all the taxes and fees added per gallon as part of the total price at the pump ... then the state made it illegal to do that.

i want to think it was back in the 70's. my bro worked for big oil and told me about it. i do remember seeing it posted on the pumps for a while, and then it disappeared. i'll try to see what i can dig up.

How does one clear a cookie?

If you are using Firefox, you can use an add-on like "self destructing cookies" -- unless you whitelist the site (like you would for FR), all cookies for the site are automatically deleted when you leave that webpage.

If you are using Chrome, you can use an extension like "Vanilla cookie manager". Again, unless you "whitelist" a site, when you "press the cookie button", all cookies are deleted.

Or you can do it manually, but that's a bit more complicated.
