I agree. The nominee MUST be better than DOle-McCain-ROmney.

What I mean by that he must not be a mild mannered go-along-to-get-along type. The country needs a serious change of direction, and soon. 8 years of Hillary or Elizabeth Warren will finish this country off for good. I am already making plans if that happens.

So you’ll be a “Romney, Christie, Bush or Pawlenty man” if the dice roll that way?

We conservatives are in a genuinely difficult philosophical situation. I have liberal acquaintances who say things like "I don't like Hillary, but I'll vote for her over any Republican."

I also hear "Hillary is in the pocket of big corporations, but I'll vote for her over any Republican."

I NEVER hear any of them say "If Hillary is nominated, I'll being staying home on election day."

Liberals pick the most liberal person on the ballot, even if that person is not really very liberal. We conservatives will stat home if our personal hero is not on the ballot.

That's called being true to your values. It's also disastrous for the country.

To be more accurate, the article is trying to convince us that the Dems fear Rand Paul, thus we must nominate him. They did this last cycle with Jon Huntsman.

Don’t worry, it’s not going to be Clinton. She’s not left wing enough. It’s going to be Warren. She’s the true believer. (Funny how the press will never refer to someone like her as “far left” or “extremist”.)

And yes, basically I think our Republic is dead. It’s Detroit all the way down.

I wish Rand Paul would tell this to the Stupid Party . . . the GOPee establishment elite that think George Romney, Chris Christie, and Jeb Bush are their saviors.

The Stupid Party still wants to join hands with the demonic Donkey Party and goes to war with their own base. These GOPee elites raise the Party of Stupid to stratospheric heights.

Sometime the disinfo extends to Conservative hosts. Having said that, if Glenn Beck would quit saying junk to leftist news sites like CNN and quit going on FNC, unless he has soemthing worth saying instead of apologizing for things. And if he would quit having libertarian social views and not say things to rile up people like Alex Jones’ fans with Cliven Bundy and then oppose Freepers with his humanitarian border plans. Then maybe he might not have so many detractors who don;t even listen to him anymore just rant about him. But I get it. I’m 50/50 on him.

Yeah Our Republic is dying.
When conservatives can’t agree on candidates anymore.
When liberals attack anyone with anything remotely to right.
When the GOP establishment uses Democrat tactics to win.
When people attack radio hosts who are supposedly on their side.
When liberaltarians are trying to hijack conservative’s momentum in the GOP.
When everyone is thin skinned on politics and education.
When Hollywood and the media are activist.
Yeah things are going out of control.

Socialist scum are taking advantage of the divisions to take over.

Right that is the other problem. Instead of having a nationwide primary, doing it by states and liberal states at that with open primaries will cause another bad nominee to be chosen.

I could see how Rand irks the left. He has the same social and foreign policy philosophy. But he is conservative on fiscal matters. He has been pandering to Latino and black communities and groups. And he endorsed Mitch McConnell and Susan Collins. That can irk them because they wanted to paint him as far right. I can see the hatred.

Let's suppose it's Hillary vs. Jeb Bush in 2016. Would you work to see Jeb elected, and would you go out on a rainy election day to vote for him?

If I were asked such a question six years ago, I would have instantly said no. No RINOs for me. But since then I've seen all the damage Obama has done. And Hillary (or Warren) would be worse, because neither of them is as unfocused or lazy as Obama is.

For the good of the country, I'd have to personally answer yes (reluctantly) to my two questions above.

2 questions..

Who in GOP prospects is most likely to peel away democrat voter?

How do you know Huntsman would have been worse than Romney in 2012?

The stupid party of old, white, country clubbers, MIC chickenhawks, mild mannered, go along to get along, are incorrigible. I can’t wait for them to retire and go away.

Will Rand Paul be able to convince them? Not a chance.
Only thing he can do is to try to wrestle the nomination away from Jeb, Christy & Mitt.
