Did the officer have a legal reason for using this? Usually, there are rules about misusing that DB. It isn’t a toy.

The officer did not have a legal reason, and that was the basis for termination. Yes, users who have access to these databases are all audited and monitored. Normally, an officer running an ex-girlfriend or something like that would get a suspension but not termination.

This was different. The cop was being stupid.
