Obama won’t grant amnesty before the election, because that would cause a backlash against the democrats.

He may not doing anything more than he currently is doing, including talking a lot about doing something that remains undefined.

I heard a talking head this morning, on Fox I think, and I don't recollect who, who said that they thought he would do it because it would "motivate the base" for November.

Agreed. It may be akin to the Trillion-dollar coin to "pay off" some National debt, or go on a spending spree.

Float it for its ability to capture some news cycles and rile up folks.

Amnesty will happen during the lame duck session. Boehner wants it, GOPe wants it. After it's signed into law, Boehner announces he will retire after the 2016 elections.

Other RINOs will be lining up jobs on K Street and/or adding to their campaign funds, to prepare for the tsunami of primaries that would result.
