What a position to be in, when the Israelis have to ask the Germans to ‘watch their back’. I say that in jest, observing the irony, and knowing most modern day Germans have moved on from that old dangerous way of thinking.

This is hilarious...and genious on the part of Israel.

Wonderful of Israel asking the EU to stand as the tripwire/potential hostages of Hamas. First, it might actually work and Hamas will keep behind the line. More likely, the Euros will be the first killed/captured in the next Hamas border incursions and the European countries will have to do some mental gymnastics to blame Israel for it.

Israel needs to monitor, do this herself. It’s absurd, after all she’s been through, that she doesn’t just do it like any nation would. (This is not a criticism of Germany. I’m only commenting on Jerusalem )

The EU already did that once at a crossing in Rafah in the south of Gaza
And when Hamas told them it was time to leave, they split. I certainly wouldn't trust the EU, but then they have to get through Egypt before getting to the EU inspectors.
