More Bad News for the Middle Class and Their Health Care
American Thinker ^ | August 7,2014 | Keith R. Jackson

In the hospitals, we see the consequences. While the poor and the illegal immigrants get absolutely free care, the middle-class patients are collapsing financially under the strain of their deductibles and their lost income from their time off work, not to mention the additional stress of their illness. In our clinics, sick patients are choosing to forego testing, medicines, and surgery that they need solely because of cost. Instead they are living with their illnesses, often with cheap antibiotics as a means of delaying the inevitable.

To make matters worse, the patients getting their health care for free will ask for taxi vouchers, food stipends, and the like right in front of these other people, never thinking that what they are requesting is an affront to the sensibilities of the people paying their bills with our tax dollars. Seeing the middle class visibly suffer like this when the president told them during the elections that they would see their costs “go down $2,500 per family” is a heinous outcome of a preposterous government overreach.

Elections have consequences. These middle class useful idiots also voted for the Keyan King. Dumbasses all.

His Obamacare lies and what it has done to the healthcare system already are enough of a crime to impeach the prevaricating SOB in the white house on the spot.

I don't have words to describe my contempt for the POS.

Until or unless the mass of American citizens rise up and throw off the yoke of the Regime’s tyranny, this will continue. There is no peaceful way back from where the US has gone and the GOP’s honeyed words are only an anesthetic to ease the slow death.

Further support for what is exposed in this article:

A good friend has done quite well in the joint-replacement business with the #1 supplier of artificial joints. Business is WAY down.

Reason: middle class and older citizens are avoiding joint replacement because of the high deductibles. They are getting this straight from their clients - the docs and the hospitals.

He’s predicting a huge even greater decrease in business in January when all the Obamacare insurers jack their rates up to where many of their market clients will not have the surgery simply because they cannot afford it.

He expects an outcry from the population that will demand a single-payer solution.

Put your seatbelts on.

Lots of people will go to India or Thailand for their joint replacements... you can fly there, have a month-long vacation, the surgery, a month-long recovery, and fly back for less than the cost of just the surgery in the US.

The best way to defeat OBAMA CARE, is for the middle class to have a MEDICAL SAVINGS ACCOUNT. That way, they can buy CATASTROPHIC INSURANCE POLICY. In other words, they will pay for everything under a certain amount, example: they will pay for the 1st $5,000 or the first $10,000. Anything over that, the insurance company will cover. Suggestion: Have every one put in $50/week, or $100/week, or whatever they can afford. Eventually, withing a few years, they’ll have enough money to cover their yearly medical cost. CATASTROPHIC INSURANCE is still very cheap.

Connecting the dots...

It's not a nearly impossible situation that some dread disease from Africa or from the hordes crossing into the US from Central America spreads in the US when schools open or from other contact with these diseases. According to this article, people who in the past would've been incredibly responsible about getting medical care are avoiding medical treatment because of the expense. I'll add to that the difficulty people seem to be having scheduling timely doctor appointments.

And the ptb are telling us not to worry?

Yeah, it’ll be fascinating to watch and see whether a public horrified at a health care environment caused by massive government intervention (Obamacare) will turn around and demand TOTAL government intervention (single payer).

The bourgeois must be beaten down so that the proletariat may rise. Nothing to see here, absolutely nothing.

I also have pure contempt for this LIAR IN CHIEF and all these liberals, socialists and communists that were elected, and continously re-elected. But there is no use crying over spilled milk. It is what it is. The only thing any one and every one can do is make a plan to protect himself and his family. Eventually, this too will come to pass. That I foresee terrible things happening in this country, because of these elected politicians, is prophetic. The only ones that will survive the coming deluge will be the ones who prepared for it.

CATASTROPHIC INSURANCE is still very cheap.

That can be a good strategy for people under 30 years old or who can manage to get one of the hardship exemptions from the Obamacare penalties. Otherwise the IRS will force you to pay the Obamacare penalty and that may erase your cost savings.

This will be true of those with more $$$ for sure, but the average citizen on average income probably won’t consider it.

Yes, for sure.

I’d think the protestation would be to get gov. out of healthcare - but my friend in the business and all those he knows in healthcare (mostly docs) are pretty convinced the dominant cry will be for single payer - the original goal of O and his Marxist comrades everywhere.......

I would like to know about the catastrophic policy to which you refer. The catastrophic policy I have has a 10k deductible and a 50% co-pay after the deductable has been met. The monthly premium for my husband and myself is $537.00. I was also told the premium will go up in January.
