CBS may be eyeing an earnings miss (Thanks to Hillary's book flop?)

Alpha Now/Seeking Alpha’s Sridharan Raman says CBS is battling several headwinds in the current quarter. The World Cup tournament, broadcast in the U.S. by ABC and ESPN, drew viewers and may have led to weak advertising results at CBS, while online content continues to draw ad dollars away from television. Finally, CBS’ hit television series, “How I Met Your Mother,” came to an end:

“There will be plenty of revenue from syndication, but the show has been a major draw for TV viewers. The large negative StarMine Predicted Surprise of 5.3% indicates that CBS is likely to report an earnings miss for the fiscal second quarter.

Analysts have been lowering their estimates over the past 90 days. The StarMine SmartEstimate is 4 cents below the already-lowered consensus, and is at 71 cents per share, an indication that the consensus may go lower before the company reports, or the company may miss earnings estimates. Since the beginning of June, there have been 17 analysts that have lowered estimates and only one that has gone higher.

CBS made a political contribution to the Hillary Campaign with $14 million for her “book.”
Nothing more.

Not to mention their one hour a week campaign add for Hillary entitled (Madam Secretary) Should be a real big flop but it will run until the end of November 2016 win loose or draw

I think the loss of several hit shows and the fact CBS Sports may be too reliant on the NFL for revenue may hurt the company in the long run. Disney--who owns ABC and ESPN--will be financially vastly more viable because of the ESPN's enormous profit from live sports (the arrival of the SEC Network has proven to be more successful than thought because ESPN got Comcast to carry the network, a huge win for ESPN), not to mention Disney's huge profits from its theme parks and the number of movie franchises Disney now owns (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and now most of the Marvel Comics movie rights).

Rich liberals and liberal controlled businesses like CBS have been buying unsellable left wing books for decades to buy liberal politicians like both Clintoons, Obozo and Carter.

Killary most definitely needs the 'Wide Loads' toll booth.

And I'm sure that it's restriction of 'Cash Only' suites her just fine.

I’m not helping their ratings. There are only two channels I watch much of. One is the local CBS affilate, where I watch the local news in the morning. The other is the Encore Westerns channel. Wish I didn’t have to pay for all the other BS channels.

Gunsmoke reruns are the best shows on TV IMHO.
