The gross expense for diapers is one of the reasons little kids are beat to death during potty training. I wholeheartedly support diaper ministries. We had one at our church.

I wholeheartedly support diaper ministries. We had one at our church. Run by the church, yes... but what Cali is pushing is yet another in a multitude of government programs. Government doesn't do anything well.

I'm all for private charities that give diapers to poor mothers, but I don't think the state should have to buy diapers for people. And it's especially outrageous that the $100 a month would be in the form of cash. People who are given cash to buy diapers will be just as likely to beat their toddlers during toilet training because that cash could be spent on something other than diapers.

If we have a society where beating kids to death for excessive diaper use is rampant--we have much bigger issues and handing out some free diapers aint even come near to touching them.
I feel for any kid in that situation however I am certain diaper beatings are just one of a long list of reasons that poor kid is "gonna get it".
