Lagos, Nigeria - Barely 24 hours before his death, Patrick Sawyer had a rather strange - and in the words of medical and diplomatic sources here, “Indiscipline” encounter with nurses and health workers at First Consultants Hospital in Obalende, one of the most crowded parts of Lagos, a population of some 21 million inhabitants, FrontPageAfrica has learned.

Looking to get to the bottom of Sawyer’s strange ailment on the Asky Airline flight, which Sawyer transferred on in Togo, hospital officials say, he was tested for both malaria and HIV AIDS. However, when both tests came back negative, he was then asked whether he had made contact with any person with the Ebola Virus, to which Sawyer denied. Sawyer’s sister, Princess had died of the deadly virus on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Catholic Hospital in Monrovia. On Friday, July 25, 2014, 18 days later, Sawyer died in Lagos.

Regarding Ebola: Central nervous system involvement has led to hemiplegia and disorientation, and sometimes frank psychosis.

This would likely explain Sawyer's behavior along with fear, grief over his sister, losing control (body, circumstances - unable to go home), etc. I don't think his behavior is all that 'strange'. Richard Preston's book 'The Hot Zone' talked about personality changes (for lack of a better term), but the 'frank psychosis' (characterized by hallucinations, delusions, and disorganization of thought and behavior) reference is from the link below:

“FrontPageAfrica has now learned that upon being told he had Ebola, Mr. Sawyer went into a rage, denying and objecting to the opinion of the medical experts. “He was so adamant and difficult that he took the tubes from his body and took off his pants and URINATED ON THE HEALTH WORKERS, forcing them to flee.”

Does R. Kelly also deny having Ebola?

Ebola in its second phase affects the brain and causes irrational behavior. The fact that this man - who had clearly got it while he was caring for his sister, who died of it - wanted to go back to his daughters’ birthday party even though he was already showing symptoms before he even got on the plane demonstrates this.

People who survive Ebola are left with problems because of its massive effect on the brain. Many of them have visual problems (they probably have other problems too, but most of the reports come from African hospitals that may only catch the obvious things) and also even permanent physical problems, such as major joint problems.

Why is the MenSeekingMed media harping on this? If it were a real, random threat, they’d be hushing it. But they’re busting it open.

Either the threat is larger than they want us to believe (quarantine) or it’s smaller than they tell us (quarantine).

I now am of the opinion that zero and his thugs don’t plan to let this crisis go to waste.

Is your governor pro-or-anti-Agenda-21?

An Ebola diagnosis in underdeveloped countries is a death sentence because it places you in quarantine with others who have the same diagnosis. Note that Sawyer behaved normally until he was informed of the diagnosis. Then he pulled out all the stops to get out, including pulling strings with government contacts. His behavior was quite rational.

No wonder the populace reacts by wanting to burn down hospitals, kill patients and send in the army. No wonder no one wants to be diagnosed. There is no trust, and for good reason. Meanwhile, Western doctors are leaving.

The West needs to send several hospital ships as mobile clinics. They can anchor just offshore, accept patients under controlled sterile conditions and study the virus.

FrontPageAfrica has now learnt that Sawyer exhibited similar indiscipline behavior during his sister’s stay at the Catholic Hospital in Monrovia where she was taken because he noticed she was bleeding profusely and was later found to be a victim of Ebola.

Sawyer was seen with blood on his clothing after his sister’s death and had earlier demanded that she be placed in a private room. President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf cited indiscipline and disrespect as a key reason why Sawyer contracted the Ebola virus. She said his failure to heed medical advice put the lives of other residents across the nation’s border at risk.

I don’t know. It may be simply because it’s such a strange case.

I’m not sure this was planned in advance, but Obama will definitely use it. In the meantime, I doubt that he’s planning on shaking hands with any of the leaders at the African conference this week
