I found another article on it.

"However, chlorination was very effective at destroying microcystin-LR and nodularin with free chlorine residual of 0.5mg/L after 30 minutes contact time with pH<8 (Nicholsonetal.,1994)."

That comes out to about .51PPM. I will be looking for other sources. I would probably stick with 3PPM and use a test kit to make sure the pH is less than 8.

Definitely worth getting the ph test kit. Also have a few pounds of calcium hypochlorite.
