Belleville to me is Scott AFB.
I remember seeing the movies ‘An Affair to Remember’ and ‘Jailhouse Rock’ in a downtown theater when they first came out in 1957.
I was born there at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in 1953 when my dad was stationed at Scott AFB. I’d love to say I had good memories of the place but we left when I was 6 months old, lol.
I dated a lovely young lady that was attending McKendree College in Lebanon, IL. I took her to the homecoming dance at Scott AFB.
