OK, hundreds of ball bearings is no big deal. The average car has hundreds of ball bearings. Hundreds of cement mixers would be very difficult to smuggle in, even if they were the small 1/2 yard type.

Or maybe the writer needs to go back to Journalism school and learn how to construct a sentence.

What cars have hundreds of ball bearings? There are a little over a hundred bearings in a car, but they are not all ball bearings by far; many are tapered roller bearings and many others are journal bearings.

the rockets are also packed with shrapnel—including nails, razors and, most commonly, ball bearings—which are scattered throughout a relatively wide radius upon impact, maiming or killing anyone in the vicinity. …

OK, hundreds of ball bearings is no big deal.

Our Claymore mines look like two slightly curved shoebox lids, back to back. One lid has about 700 ball bearings, about 1/4" diameter, held in place with weak resin with two small sockets for blasting caps and two sets of fold out legs. It has a square sight window and, on the outside in large, friendly letters, the warning "FRONT TOWARD ENEMY".

The other lid has, IIRC, C-4, which will propel the ball bearing in excess of 4,000 fps.

Be assured, smuggling hundreds of ball bearing to HAMAS is a VERY BIG DEAL especially if they are loose balls.
