I just looked it up, and it says 41% of mothers decide not to do the Down Syndrome test.
I guess that number plus the 10% that don’t abort seems to be consistent with the number of pro-life people in America. My faith in humanity is restored!
Those are better numbers than I really expected! I'll have to remember that the next time I'm depressed about the "90% of prenatally-diagnosed DS children aborted" stat. It does make sense, though, that women who tend pro-life would refuse the test on the grounds that they're not going to abort anyway so why add that stress.
