People around FR know I'm an atheist, but I have no problem with this kind of display. There are times I want to whomp my fellow atheists upside the head and tell them to get a life.

How long until someone writes in below it, “.....all others pay cash.”

20 emails! Yikes! G-d is doomed by 20 goons from the “openly gay” crowd. I wonder how many of the emails had pictures of Carlos Danger’s wiener attached.

In Virginia, we can choose to have the motto on our license plates.

The State of Florida used the motto, “In God Is Our Trust” from an early date. During the Civil War, the Union began putting “In God We Trust” on coinage.

I don’t think it was ever considered controversial until fairly recently.

For legal purposes, atheism needs to either be acknowledged as not a position that can address religious issues, or a religion that believes in a non-conscious God.

Having atheism be allowed to oppose religious beliefs without these conditions is equivalent to allowing Sharia legal principles as valid arguments in an American court.
