Emirates Airline will stop flying over Iraq to protect against the threat of Islamic militants on the ground.
The airline told the BBC it was taking "precautionary measures" and "working on alternative routing plans for flights using Iraqi airspace".
The move follows the Malaysian Airlines' Flight MH17 disaster. MH17 was shot down while flying over Ukraine.
Emirates said it is already re-routing some flights.
It will take a few days for the re-routing to be completed, the airline added.
"We are closely monitoring the situation along with international agencies, and will never compromise the safety of our customers and crew," said Emirates.

A very good description of THE OBAMA COLD WAR.
I’ve never flown Emirates but from what I’ve heard and read, the service is almost impeccable - even if you’re sitting in coach.
I have flown a few times from Dubai to Chennai, and yes they have great service, friendly efficient and smokin hawt!!
Plus nervous about ISIS.
The air traffic over the borders Iraq and above Iraq is amazing. Seems like with ISIS in control of so much fire power, those flights could be in danger.

I’ve flown Emirates several times non-stop from the UAE back to the States. They treat everyone well. No complaints - I’d fly them anytime.
I’ve flown both First and Economy on Emirates. The service is impeccable in First and the service is as good as it can realistically be in Economy.
Arent' The UAE and Iraq both Moose Limb countries?
What a bunch of Islamaphobes. Emirate Airlines needs to be sent to re-education camp.
