ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) George Zimmerman has filed a notice to appeal the dismissal of his defamation lawsuit against NBC Universal and three reporters.
The appeal notice was filed Tuesday with the Seminole County Clerk of Courts. Judge Debra Nelson on June 30 dismissed Zimmerman's lawsuit, saying the former neighborhood watch leader had failed to show the network acted with malice.

I thought it was odd that the same judge from his trial was also deciding on his lawsuit against NBC.
Who is financing these court actions for Zimmerman? I thought he was broke and
deeply in debt or so said some articles in the past.
I thought it was odd that the same judge from his trial was also deciding on his lawsuit against NBC.’
‘Odd’ is one way to put it.
The comments at Huffington Puke are ,,,er,,,, interesting!
The 9-1-1 tape didn't EDIT ITSELF to make Zimmerman appear racist. SOMEONE IN THE NBC STUDIO DID THAT. That's enough evidence is it not? Sheesh.
‘I thought it was odd that the same judge from his trial was also deciding on his lawsuit against NBC.’
That alone should get him an appeal.
If he wins, the lawyer gets a cut of the award.
If he loses, the lawyer gets nothing.
Being Zimmerman’s attorney cannot be an easy job.
Probably the same lawyers who defended him. They probably thought that, once he was found not guilty, he would receive a multimillion dollar payout.
Have you heard of the practice of lawyers getting a percentage of the award?
I imagine that his lawyers know that there's a big payday potential here once they get the case in front of an uncompromised court.
Not only was the tape edited, it was edited with malicious intent. The 911 dispatcher asked what color the person is that Zimmerman is following. Zimmerman replies that the person is black. By editing out the dispatchers query, it looks like Zimmerman is spontaneously offering up this information as a commentary on the perp.
I want to know if Zimmerman is suing Spike Lee for basically declaring a hit on him. Also, is Lee being sued by the couple who were living in the house that Spike Lee directed his tweeples to, thinking it was Zimmerman’s or Zimmerman’s parent’s?
No malice? That is all there was when you lie like MSNBC did!
