There’s No Crisis on America’s Southern Border

Illegal immigrants are a minor annoyance; America’s shift towards European fertility is a catastrophe from which we may never recover. The demographic crisis isn’t at our borders but at home. It’s easy to blow off steam about illegals on the border, and tough to address the fundamentals. I’ve tried to do so in the past, for example here, but the real problems and prospective solutions don’t make easy sound-bites.

Just to make things clear: I want super-tough, restrictive immigration laws. I’d prefer a Canadian-style system that favors highly-educated immigrants with capital to invest. But I don’t think the best immigration law in the world is going to do much good.

The latest dip in fertility below replacement might be driven by economics, but the economics don’t appear to be getting any better.

Hispanics are increasing as a proportion of Americans NOT because they are inundating America’s borders but because they have more children than non-Hispanic Americans of European origin. That may be changing; American culture may succeed in corrupting Hispanics as effectively as it corrupted earlier waves of Catholic immigrants. Perhaps the Hispanic birth rate will shrink to the ambient American level, and we will all shrink together.

The Pew Research Center projects that the Hispanic proportion of the U.S. population will rise to 29% by 2050 while the non-Hispanic white proportion will fall to 47%, even though net immigration from Mexico turned negative in 2012.

Except for Hispanics and evangelical Protestants, America’s fertility rate during the 2000s wasn’t much different from Europe’s 1.5 children per female. The Hispanic rate appears to be falling, so the Pew forecast might be exaggerated. The evangelicals, meanwhile, are retaining perhaps a third of their young people. The millennial generation in the U.S. marries later, if at all, and has fewer children.

Mr. Clueless Conservative writing this neglects two immense things that happened in the late 1960s and early 1970s that actually destroyed the White ethnic American birth rate.

That was the “Overpopulation” hysteria promoted by the cretin misanthrope Paul Ehrlich and the rest of the Watermelon Front (environmentalists) and Roe V. Wade.

Absent those two things the American population would still look like it did in 1965.

The United States did not grow in population by immigration. The big waves of immigrants didn’t even arrive until the Americans had pretty much built the country: that’s why the period from 1890 - 1924 is referred to as “the Great Wave”. And in that particular case, they were essentially replacing the generation that was never born...because the men who would have been their fathers were killed in Mr. Lincoln’s little war. You don’t kill 1/4 of the white male population of the South and 1/5 of the white male population of the North and not have an effect on the demographics.

Up until two generations ago my family routinely had 10 to 15 children per generation. This population expansion is explosive, and is the reason that even into the 1950s something like 70% of Americans could trace their roots to the original settlers.

So the “Nation of Immigrants” crap is just that. Something invented by Immanuel Cellar and John Kennedy to legitimize themselves, since they were the perennial outsiders and hated the Americans that they came to live with.

But that’s what really happened, not some economic malaise although that’s collateral damage.

And here's the clincher: they've developed a new electronically-controlled birth control hormonal implant for women that will keep her spayed for 15 years. Mere inertia (not having it turned off) would mean you probably never have kids, since by far most babies are conceived in the first 15 years of a woman's fertile years; and dollars to donuts it will be 100% subsidized by whatever Obamacare or Obamacare-successor the master class puts in place.

It will break the final threads linking sex and babies, babies and men, men and family. Marriage will become an archaic word --- already, people don't know how to define it --- and nobody will be interested in it except a small number of celebrity gays and event caterers.

That will lead to lots more promiscuity, just in time for cephalosporin-resistant gonorrhea and other souped-up sex superbugs superbugs which will leave millions infected, oozing, bleeding, permanently sterile and dead.

The birthrate will plunge, the deathrate will soar!

Thus ends our civilization.

Glitch or feature?

When you don’t have to pay for the care, education, and raising of your kids you are free to have all you can.

The United States of America was conceived by moral men, for moral men and will cease to exist without moral men.

If we refuse to acknowledge that God is the reason for our founding, and refuse his law, the USA, as founded, will cease to exist.

We are watching the disintegration of our Country, and without the morality provided by a belief in God, it will continue.

Rome lasted 500 years, the USA will be lucky to make half of that.

That’s what is wanted to reduce world population to no more than five hundred million. It’s just too much trouble to kill that many people so the plan is to reduce the birth rate and let attrition take the population down.
