From Emily Millers Facebook page:
DC City Council Chairman Phil Mendelson emailed me this reaction to the federal court ruling in Palmer that the gun carry ban is unconstitutional:
Because of the Districts unique national security concerns, the right to carry a firearm in public must be more heavily restricted than any place else in the nation.
Four U.S. presidents have been assassinated by gunfire, and at least five others have been shot at, including Ronald Regan (sic) who was seriously wounded in 1981. Neither the Secret Service nor the Capitol Police will disclose all incidents where they have recovered firearms, but we do know that just two years ago someone hit the White House with gunfire, and there are frequent threats on the foreign diplomatic corps.
Legally owning a firearm has nothing to do with assassinations as this Miller suggests.
er, as Mendelson suggests. Sorry, I’m beside myself over this action in DC.
Did someone remind Emily Miller that all of those shootings in DC were done by criminals in DC with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation before this recent change?
four us presidents were assasinated.
yes, none in dc if i recall correctly.
Obama could walk into a KKK meeting in the Ozark Mountains and no one would touch him since he has the best insurance policy in the world: President Joe Biden!
