I understand that is the popular thought, but what if conventional wisdom is wrong. After Clinton was impeached who had a much more effective war room, we gained seats in both chambers and won the presidency. I win elections by doing what the experts says doesn’t work. It’s hard to put all the blame on the president when congress is failing in its job of oversight and the balance of power.
Your analysis is correct. We need to concentrate on getting conservatives reelected to the House and taking control of the Senate. Then the congress can exercise the power of the purse to limit this presidential abuse of power. Voters need to be reminded there has been something like 340 bills passed by the House that Harry Reid has blocked from being brought up in the Senate.
Rod, I agree with your analysis, but what happens if Obama uses an executive order that essentially stops all internal enforcement of our immigration laws and legalizes the status of 5 to 6 million illegal aliens, including giving them work permits? This isn't just an academic question because it seems that this will happen in August or September.
Obama is intent on making the midterms a referendum on immigration.
