CHILTON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - In a twist in the case of a former Thorsby teacher accused of rape and sodomy of a teen, the judge has postponed her sentencing due to a social media post.

Jennifer McNeill was supposed to be sentenced on Thursday morning, but a Facebook post caused the judge to delay sentencing until August 7 at 8 a.m.

The Facebook post indicated McNeill is innocent. Her attorney claims the victim, his mother and his brother hacked her Facebook account and made the post. However, the family denies that claim.

This is an interesting case as the teacher pled guilty as part of a plea bargain, then went on FB and proclaimed her innocence.

The judge was not amused. He then rejected the guilty plea, and is forcing the case to go to trial.

A bit of a correction, this article states sentencing is delayed, but elsewhere that the judge ruled it would go to trial. Maybe he changed his mind.
