New federal racketeering charges filed against Yee and Chow (CA Democrat)

Suspended state Sen. Leland Yee, Chinatown association leader Raymond "Shrimp Boy" Chow and 27 others were charged in federal court Froday in a revised grand jury indictment that includes new counts of racketeering.

Yee, a Democrat who represented parts of San Francisco and San Mateo County, is charged together with former San Francisco school board president Keith Jackson with racketeering by soliciting bribes and campaign contributions in exchange for political favors by Yee.

racketeering? I thought that was the job description of all elected politicians.

Hear the joke about the Black, the Mexican and the Chinaman? All three of them are California State Senators who are under indictment for criminal activity, but they have not been convicted and they refuse to resign. And that’s cool because they have effectively denied the RATs a filibuster-proof majority. Brown could appoint new RATs if they would resign, but absent that, they are non-voting placeholders.Ergo, Brown’s legislative “goals” are not going to be met.
