Too bad they couldn’t figure out how to explode those rockets just as they are fired,

The U.S. in Iraq managed to light off some remote controlled IED's using something like a garage door opener. When the Iranians switched to coded ones, at least we could jam them. There were reports of suicide bombers having their charges lit off long before they go in range of U.S. forces. I love premature detonation.

Just hope this technology gets into U.S. systems soon.

We tested some modules on our Shadow and Hunter UAVs...basically, a jammer and ECM module that would ignite all the IEDs up and down a route. It worked PERFECTLY and we killed a couple of camel humpers in the process.

What did the Army say? NO GO. It was "too successful" and indiscriminate. It set of EVERYTHING that was not command detonated. How many troops did we lose on routes we flew? Zero to VBIDs/IEDs. How many did we lose to KIA/WIA when our program shut down? Dozens.

I'd still like to find the SOB that came up with that decision.
