Ted Cruz hits back at State Department

Sen. Ted Cruz is slamming the State Department after a spokeswoman called his claim that the Federal Aviation Administration made a politically motivated decision to halt U.S. airlines’ flights to Israel “ridiculous and offensive.”

“What is ridiculous is the Obama administration refusing to answer simple questions about whether this was dictated by politics and why the FAA is singling out Israel while not focusing on other areas around the world,” the Texas Republican said Wednesday night on Fox News’ “Hannity.” “Was this politics from the White House? Or was this an airline safety decision? And I think the facts strongly suggest it was politics and an effort to strong arm the nation of Israel.”

Cruz has vowed to block all State Department nominees until he gets answers.

On Fox, Cruz said, “What is offensive is the Obama administration giving $47 million that will go to Hamas, who is actively trying to kill civilians, while simultaneously imposing millions of dollars of economic harm to our friends and allies in Israel.”

Cruz’s comment apparently refers to the $47 million in humanitarian aid that the U.S. is sending to the Gaza Strip and those who were forced from their homes during recent fighting. Of the $47 million, $15 million will help fund the United Nations’ refugee mission in Gaza.

FAA and now other euro airlines are stopping the ‘boycott’. That’s what American leadership is capable of

If 0bama and the administration really wanted an end to the “conflict”, they would not have given Hamas any money without some conditions for a cease fire. IMHO

Why is everyone calling for a cease fire? Shouldn’t the object be unconditional surrender by Hamas?

I don’t recall receiving a permission slip for me to sign asking for approval of the American People for that amount of money to be sent to the enemy of my friend.

Insanity on parade if anyone thinks that money will be used to benefit “the homeless” in Gaza.

Absolutely. If my neighborhood was firing missiles at yours, would you be receptive to Obama and Kerry calling for “restraint and calm”?

Calling Maobama out of his hole is an insult to all self-respecting groundhogs.

They didn’t ask me either.

“It’s ridiculous and offensive, quite frankly,” State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said during a press briefing. “The FAA takes its responsibilities very seriously. … They make these decisions based solely on the safety and security of American citizens, period. For anyone to suggest otherwise is just ridiculous.”

Late Wednesday night, the FAA ended the ban on flights to Israel.”

What changed on the ground to change the decision of the FAA? Nothing. All that changed was Cruz called them out, he threatened to stop State Dept. nominees, and beat them over the head with truth. They can’t handle the truth, to semi-quote Nicholson.

Of the $47 million, $15 million will help fund the United Nations’ refugee mission in Gaza.

Would that be the UN refugee mission that maintains an inventory of rockets next to the flour and medical supplies? Where the RPG launchers are stored with the childrens' clothing? And the AK-47s are with the freeze-dried Halal foods?

That UN refugee mission?
