See my post #14. Who raised the flag and their intent is unclear but that does not make the message lame....
a white flag is clearly and historically a sign of surrender and usually a dramatic one at that.
I agree in that this stunt is the first one that has occurred that I would not be surprised to find that some patriots did it.
OTOH: If someone had put up Canadian flags on the eve of a Rangers-Canucks Stanley Cup, we'd be having a chuckle.
If those were Al Qaeda flags, the city would be on lockdown.
