I think it was the right decision..no airline wants another MH17 on their hands..and the rocket that struck today was one mile from the airport..El Al is the only airline in the world with a missile defense system on board the plane..if a rocket comes close to it it will be detected

Yeah, it’s definitely prudent, even if it is unfortunate in regards to other aspects. The airlines have a business to run and they don’t run it well by risking the lives of their passengers.

Not surface to air, rather surface to surface. The risk wasn’t taking down an airliner, rather hitting one on the runway, or hitting a terminal. Or a restaurant or hotel once people got off. That risk will exist till Hamas’ capability is destroyed, something the US opposed, and until Hizbollah’s capacity is destroyed.
