I don’t have any problems using force and there’s no judge that can convince me otherwise.

That’s why I’m the one my kids listen to instantly.

I’m glad someone could explain why the belt hurt more than dad’s hand.

Let the spankings begin.

There are so many bratty kids that are owed a long overdue spanking.

“It was probably the kid. They gots rights don’t ya’ know.”

Certainly by the time a kid is that age (8 years old) they’re also able to understand that the fastest way to get a BRAND NEW set of parents is to rat out their existing parents.

I made sure to impart that information to my kids at a very young age, along with explaining how foster care works. They got the message.

“Give it a couple years, Jennifer...”

Man, her kids will be TOTAL NIGHTMARES to any adult that gets near them. But that’s what you get from going to Wellsey (or whatever feminist college she went to).

Guess you never got the belt growing up.

I’d take the open hand every time!

My Dad also had a wooden paddle with holes in it! My Mom eventually made that disappear one day.

We always got it with the fly swatter my Mom kept hanging over the washing machine. A lot of flapping going on but not much pain. Scared the bejesus out of you and you did tend to remember not to do the deed again. :-)

Oh I got the belt plenty of times. Didn’t get the open hand often.

But the problem with the open hand is that I’m a pretty big guy. If I swing with an open hand, it’s going to move you. And I think that could be bad for the spine. Especially a kid. A belt is faster and might raise a welt, but it doesn’t have as much mass as an open hand.
