Yes, my feeling too. However, I lived in his district when he was just starting out and he really wasn’t bad at all. And then he became a professional con artist, also known as a lifer politician, and became not only insensitive to his district but incredibly corrupt.
That said, opposing De Blasio is a good thing no matter who does it, and Rangel (who for reasons unknown to me is popular among blacks even though he long ago ceased to do anything for them) might be able to carry it off. I’m sure it’s only spite and vengeance, but if it helps the charter schools, that’s ok.
