I have a Lesbian cousin who is registered Republican. She claims to be a staunch conservative. However, she sounds like the most uber-liberal you can name. She has never voted for a Republican because she “votes the person not the party.” I am certain that in her own heart she is convinced she’s a conservative. If you try to reason with her or start to logically present a case to the contrary she scrambles away from the conversation like a cat escaping a skunk. I think most politicians are smarter than this and just cynically use the label to their advantage when it suits and not when it doesn’t.

Interesting insight. Perhaps Lamar actually thinks he is a conservative despite all the evidence to the contrary.
Of course, the same can be said for many of those who claim to be Christian, American and other identities. It is as if there is a complete disconnect between the words and their meanings.

The left has so damaged the language that words no longer mean what they once did. I don’t remember the Luis Carroll character, but he said, “Words mean what I mean for them to mean. Nothing more and nothing less.” Homosexual sounds like a disease. Now it’s the much nicer gay. Abortion sounds messy. Now it’s woman’s health. Somebody once told me, gosh, I’d like to have the rainbow back in public domain. Now it means something entirely different than it once did.

Saw this last night right after you posted it and thought, “That sounds like a friend of mine singing.” Saw him tonight and asked about it and sure enough, it’s him. He didn’t write it; just did the vocals.
All involved did a good job.
