Tell me more. Is that instead of the typical National Guard setup, or in addition to it? And if so, relative size?
You know, I just found out today that the TSG is not an armed force and has no law enforcement authority. Most members have CHLs, but they are not issued military weaponry. They’re more the support arm of the Texas Military Forces.
I guess that makes sense since they are technically the organized militia for Texas. They can concealed-carry handguns and open-carry long guns just like the unorganized militia.
