It should be done now by any means necessary.

Will the feds side with the illegals?

Should have been done weeks/months ago. I understood that the NG reported to the Governor, unless it was nationalized by the Prez. It would be very interesting if Obama nationalized them and told them to stand down. Total banana republic, obvious treason.

Border ping. Gov. Perry is methodically working on a plan for the Guard to fully secure the border. Some Guard already down there.

It’s TOO LATE to do it in a hurry!

Should have been done long ago.

What do you think the Gov. intends to do? Currently the invaders are wading, swimming,
boating or however across the Rio Grande and walking up to Authorities and turning themselves
in. At that point they get into the deportation process which can take years.

Does the Gov. intend to meet them at the border, turn them around and tell them to cross
back over the Rio Grande? If he takes them in then they just get in line with the
current processing.

Basically once they cross the mid point of the Rio Grande they are in the US, state of Texas.
I’m not sure what Gov. Perry plans but if he can turn them around immediately that would
certainly be a different approach.

If he meant to actually do it he would not announce it. The announcement is a heads-up to the feds to forbid him to do it while getting credit for the intention. If he meant to do it, and all the border governors should take real steps in spite of the feds, he would just send the Texas Rangers to the border and secure it.

Watch Zero "call out the guard" as military CIC for a mission. At that point, legally, Perry has to refuse the order. Zero would go to court for an order and would win that case at the SCOTUS. He is CIC of the militia. He is OUR President.

Maybe this jerk really did learn something being a Constitutional lawyer. What he learned are the powers such as Patrick Henry foretold at the Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 5, 1788:

This, sir, is my great objection to the Constitution, that there is no true responsibility — and that the preservation of our liberty depends on the single chance of men being virtuous enough to make laws to punish themselves.

[snip]

If your American chief be a man of ambition and abilities, how easy is it for him to render himself absolute! The army is in his hands, and if he be a man of address, it will be attached to him, and it will be the subject of long meditation with him to seize the first auspicious moment to accomplish his design; and, sir, will the American spirit solely relieve you when this happens? I would rather infinitely — and I am sure most of this Convention are of the same opinion — have a king, lords, and commons, than a government so replete with such insupportable evils. If we make a king, we may prescribe the rules by which he shall rule his people, and interpose such checks as shall prevent him from infringing them; but the President, in the field, at the head of his army, can prescribe the terms on which he shall reign master, so far that it will puzzle any American ever to get his neck from under the galling yoke. I cannot with patience think of this idea. If ever he violates the laws, one of two things will happen: he will come at the head of his army, to carry every thing before him; or he will give bail, or do what Mr. Chief Justice will order him. If he be guilty, will not the recollection of his crimes teach him to make one bold push for the American throne? Will not the immense difference between being master of every thing, and being ignominiously tried and punished, powerfully excite him to make this bold push? But, sir, where is the existing force to punish him? Can he not, at the head of his army, beat down every opposition? Away with your {60} President! we shall have a king: the army will salute him monarch: your militia will leave you, and assist in making him king, and fight against you: and what have you to oppose this force? What will then become of you and your rights? Will not absolute despotism ensue?

“But I think there’s a point in time where you say, ‘You know what? This 1,200 mile border has to be secured.’ And if there is a people and if there is a place that it can happen, it will be Texas.”

That "point in time" has long passed. Can you say political theatre? So far, Perry is all hat, no cattle.

If Open Borders Perry actually does this, he actually will become a contender for the Presidency.

Even though this should have been his first reaction/action.
