It does indeed seem that what counts is NOT the count of civilian dead, rather world opinion seems to focus on WHAT group caused the deaths.

I imagine Obama will release a statement shortly condemning this action by Israel. Obama and his ilk hate Israel and all it stands for.
Those who hate Israel will decry its actions no matter the outcome or details. Israel needs to do what it must do and have no care for the approval of the rest of the world. Do it right, do it completely and come home.
To our Israeli friends - many of us here in the United States fully support you in this action. It is only the very vocal minority who chant for Israel’s destruction. We wish our Marines and soldiers were there with the full force of our military operating beside you. G-d bless you all.
They SHOULD be taking out Hamas leadership, in person, by drone or any other way possible. Killing a few low-level bomb throwers and rocket launchers is good, but you really want to get those WHO GIVE THE ORDERS.

I remember how badly Israel did in the 2006 Lebanon ground game. Hoping and praying for the best.
