Waiting for details, but it seems cops are way too eager to unload their weapons these days.

If shooting is what they so badly want, why don't they trade their uniforms for military UCP and go where this kid went?

My opinion and interaction has been that they want the authority but not the discipline/teamwork rigidity required in the military.

Officers typically patrol in singles/pairs out on their own a fair amount. Military in squads and platoons with more direct oversight.
