What the hell is wrong with these nimrods? Do they *want* the GOP base to stay home, thus keeping the Senate under Dingy Harry’s thumb? It sure seems like they do.

It seems that they like being the minority party, so they can act like the underdog while caving to the dems, whining and crying about “trying” and still have all those wonderful perks. So full of principle... *gag*

I want no part in this kind of “party”. Ick.

"What the hell is wrong with these nimrods?"

The post (And pre, although more difficult) 17th Amendment Senators are just engaging in the legacy of protecting the long-time incumbent/nobility.

An incumbent love-fest should not be that surprising, especially from this current crop of "maintaining the status quo/afraid to lose" bunch.

In a manner of speaking, they do. They would rather see the Senate stay in RAT hands if it means that they don’t give up any of “their seats” to the Tea Party. They have clearly put maintaining control of the GOLP ahead of replacing any RATs.

Of course they want the current base gone. The base doesn’t represent their values.

They don’t want the Tea Party to gain any momentum.

They think they can slide in and keep their cushy job with help from democrats.
