Interfaith Alliance ‘greatly disappointed’ in Branstad’s statements about kids at the border

The head of the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa says Governor Terry Branstad showed a “lack of compassion” when Branstad said he does not want any of the unaccompanied children from Central America who are crossing into the southern U.S. to wind up in Iowa.

Connie Ryan Terrell, the executive director of the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, says the state has a history of welcoming immigrants and many in Iowa’s faith community are “greatly disappointed” with Branstad.

“If you look back to the 1970s, (former Iowa) Governor Ray was really the lead governor in our nation that worked to provide safe refuge for people coming from Southeast Asia and really was the instigator across the nation to get other governors to do likewise,” she says.

Ryan-Terrell says the state’s “faith community” is asking Branstad to “reconsider his position” and “open the doors of Iowa” to the Central American children who’ve recently entered the U.S.

Nice pincer move by the White Hut political machine to drive a wedge between the faith community and the republican party.

Religious activist groups are more often than not leftist front groups. No different than ACORN or ANSWER, but camouflaged as Christianity.

“Interfaith Alliance of Iowa & Action Fund empowers Iowans of faith and goodwill to become actively involved and to be effective in the political process as the PROGRESSIVE voice of faith & goodwill across our state. We are affiliated with the national Interfaith Alliance and are part of its national network of local and state affiliates”

These people are leftists. They have nothing to do with people of faith. They don’t represent anyone but a few marginal leftist activists.

They are "communitarians" - which is how they dupe the unwary into advancing their leftist agenda.

Otto Katz, NKVD agent and right hand man of COMINTERN operative Willi Munzenberg was the one who organized academics, media types and vapid Hollywood actors into “Anti-Fascist” front groups that for the most part unwittingly served the Kremlin. Munzenberg called them “Innocents Clubs,” while the more tuned-in called them useful idiots. It’s hard to blame the people of this country for not knowing this because it was never taught in our schools. I have a grudging respect for the way communists can hide things in plain sight.

Interfaith Alliance of Iowa distributed a letter to Iowa legislators in February asking them to uphold the right of same-sex couples to marry in Iowa.

Iowans for Gun Safety, One Million Moms for Gun Control and the Iowa Interfaith Alliance of Iowa challenged U.S. Rep. Tom Latham, R-Clive, specifically to support measures requiring universal background checks for firearms purchases and restrictions on high-capacity ammunition magazines.

“We call upon our congressional representatives and senators to listen carefully with an open mind to the president’s plan,” said Connie Ryan Terrell, executive director of the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa. “We ask in particular Reps. Latham and King and Sen. Grassley to set aside partisan politics and do what’s right for our nation, our state and our children.”

I haven’t heard of Munzenberg, thanks.

Connie Ryan Terrell and Interfaith Alliance of Iowa are a sham. Look at her affiliations: Planned Parenthood, ACLU, PrideNet. Interfaith Alliance participates in rallies promoting homo “marriage” and advocates against the 2nd amend.

If you really want to puke look at “one iowa” touted by Terrell.

They should be hustling those kids back to their home countries so they don’t miss any school, birthday parties with grandparents and other relatives, Christmas at home, etc. It would be cruel to keep them here and have them miss out on so much at home. In fact, the governments should be encouraged to show up and claim them and accelerate their prompt return.

First of all, who is the interfaith whatever?

Second, notice she said “many” are disappointed. I guess she actually knows she doesn’t speak for everyone of faith.
