Kay Granger: Countries want kids back

Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas), who along with other lawmakers met with leaders of Central America over the weekend, said that those officials “want their children back.”

“This is not an immigration problem, this is a crisis,” Granger said on “Fox and Friends” Tuesday after she concluded the trip. “What we should be dealing with is this crisis and not blaming either Congress or these countries.”

Granger, who is chair the House group working to address the immigration crisis, met with President of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez and President of Guatemala Otto Pérez Molina.

“We found out that the president and the first ladies of Guatemala and Honduras want their children back and they’re willing to cooperate with us to send their children back as quickly as possible,” Granger said.

Granger pointed out that Honduras is one of the most dangerous countries in the world, with murders every 20 minutes within its borders, which may explain the high concentration of children heading north.

When asked by “Fox and Friends” hosts if she spoke with leaders about whether they have spoke to President Barack Obama, Granger admitted that she hadn’t but that she did suggest steps the president could take in the future.

“I did ask them how helpful it would be if the president of the United States spoke out clearly and strongly and said ‘Don’t send your children to the United States illegally because we will send them back, they will not complete their journey,’ they said could be very helpful but they did not indicate that was happening,” Granger said.

She continued, “We need to send [the children] back, help these countries keep them at home and protect our border.” Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) echoed Granger on Fox News later Tuesday.

“We need to send them back, care for them while they’re here and adjudicate them as quickly as possible,” he said. The administration, Coats added, had been too slow to act. “They should’ve seen this coming months ago, if not years ago,” he said.

And some point Obama said, “Get them here and I’ll take care of them.” Otherwise he wouldn’t have tried to make arrangements to take care of them before they flooded here.

Not only is he a trafficker of children, he was intimately involved in the process from the start.

This guy needs to be prosecuted.

Somewhere down the line we'll probably find evidence that Obama was much more involved in instigating this than we know now. Right now he is posing as an innocent bystander to a crisis that he thinks will work to his political advantage.

Obama encouraged these children to make the trip. He should have to reimburse them, personally, for the money they had to pay to "coyotes" to get to the US. That's in addition to paying for their trip home.

He was trying to arrange things back late last year and early this year. That tells me he knew they were coming. Why didn’t he act in our best interest then?

Instead he acted in their best interests.

The guy needs to be prosecuted.

It sure would be interesting to see how this word got down there to send their children. Someone has got to break soon.

I’m ticked at Obowma; our feckless, weak, and self-serving congress; and the parents of these children.
It’s just disgusting all around! I agree with Beck on this issue, lets help the kids and then lets get them sent back.

No its not a crisis. The media has not made it a crisis.

The reason its not is because the president is black democrat president.
If it were a white republican president, then it would be a crisis. The media would sound off about it 24/7.

But since the president is a black democrat, they will protect him to no end. (less they be racists)

Its not a crisis. In fact its not even a story. Its not happening at all.

It is inhumane to keep those poor children in this country. They must be returned into the loving arms of their parents. It is the humane thing to do. Every child needs parents to nurture them in their development to adulthood, not the US government.

The US is no different than a pedophile who offers a candy bar to lure a child into his car or home to exploit.

Really, Kay? If you were able to find that out, then why the #e&& can’t you “find out” who’s sending these *chilrens* here...and put an IMMEDIATE stop to it?

Michelle Obama has a spare Hashtag sign she’s not using any more. Maybe the First Ladies of Central America can hold those up while furrowing their plucked brows. #BringOurGirlsBack, indeed! They just now remembered that they want their native youth to stay there? Maybe the pay offs are not happening quickly enough. Certain politicians has lost patience with this White House Circus.

I’ve never read that Kay Granger was a conservative on any issue. She is a Kay Bailey Hutchison Republican even though Kay Bailey is gone to Nacogdoches or Dallas or where?

Yes, and the American people agree with their “mainstream media”, as it is called. If not, surely some of the useless incumbents running in 2014 would have already lost primaries besides David Dewhurst and Eric Cantor.

I’ve never read anything that proves Kay to be a conservative, either. She introduced Dana PeRINO at a luncheon I attended, a few years ago. That was my first intro to Kay — and my first clue that she was a RINO.
