Ukraine as an energy independent country is a key task, which the Government is trying to solve, said Vice Prime Minister-Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Volodymyr Hroisman at a briefing at the Government House.
He has informed that Ukraine is to reduce natural gas consumption by 5 billion cubic meters by 2020 and hereby save UAH 8.6 billion of the State budget expenditures for compensation allocating to Naftogaz of Ukraine in order to cover the difference between the purchase price of imported natural gas and the price of natural gas supplied by heat-generating enterprises for the production of heat energy for the citizens. For this purpose, the Ministry has developed a mechanism of economic incentives for the replacement of natural gas supplies to other fuels and the Government has already approved such a decision.

You’ll never catch Oblama saying something like this.
“Are they going to re-start Chernobyl?”
That was a Russian design, and it was a stinker. Highly unstable at certain power levels (obviously).

Amen... And Ukraine is sitting on shale gas fields as
big as the ones in TX, So is Poland and Germany.
They are sitting on 1000 years of gas that is known.
Huge amounts of coal. All shale has super deep oil
under it at 5 to 10 miles down.
Sure they can become independent
of Russia’s energy and help EU do the same..
Just send the green commie/fascists to putler, drill
and mine like hell. You know putler ran around the EU
campaigning against fracking while cranking it into
overdrive in his country....Ed
