Article doesn't mention all the monies spent on bike paths that are built next to roads. Each one cost the same as a road to build (engineering, asphalt, labor, etc..) .
And in a lot of cases land must be bought to build the damn things. Yet in a lot of cases the bike riders still ride in the fricken street.
And the pedicyclist/jogger does not pay one cent in gas tax or user fee.

People, including me, are driving much less because of the high cost of gasoline. Drop the price and people will drive more, buy more gasoline, and more money will go into the fund.

However, I understand the Fund is open to being raided by the Administration and used for other purposes, just as the Social Security has been raided for many years.
