As the sixth day of Operation Protective Edge came to a close Sunday evening, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu gave no indication of whether the campaign was nearing its end or whether Israel is on the verge of a ground operation.
The security cabinet met Sunday evening, as it has on an almost daily basis since the campaign began, with the options on the table ranging from sending IDF troops into Gaza to working with a third party – such as the US, Egypt, Qatar, or Turkey – to broker a cease-fire, to a unilateral cease-fire to gauge how Hamas reacts.
Netanyahu spoke by phone Sunday with US Secretary of State John Kerry, who discussed the issue with his colleagues from Britain, France and Germany on the sidelines of talks with Iran in Vienna.
Kerry, according to the State Department, said the US is growing “concerned about escalating tensions on the ground” in Gaza.
Kerry also restated the Obama administration’s condemnation of rocket attacks from Gaza against Israel’s citizens and repeated American support for Israel’s right to defend itself.
One senior US official told journalists on Saturday evening that the Obama administration considers Iran partially at fault in the Gaza crisis – and that Kerry would make that clear to his Iranian counterpart, Javad Zarif, in a rare one-on-one meeting planned for Sunday afternoon.

I’d be willing to bet that day will be when the Islamofascists stop murdering Israelis. Israel does things differently than the U.S. does. They don’t cut and run when the “general public” become “war weary”.

I doubt it. Iran is Shiite. Boko Haram, al-Qaeda, the Taliban, the Somali pirates -- the biggest current sources of terrorism -- are Sunni Muslims.

Iran’s record clearly speaks for itself. Iran is the single largest state sponsor of terror in the world. All too many of the world’s major terrorist attacks during the last 30 years can be traced back to Iran.
Ever since the 444 day U.S. Embassy Hostage Crisis, the guardians of Iran’s Islamic Revolution have used terror as a primary means of stating their objectives and accomplishing their goals of exporting an ideology.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps received their initial training in coordination with Yasser Arafat’s Palestinian Liberation Organization. Today, with over 150,000 members, many consider the IRGC to be the world’s largest terror organization; significantly larger than al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
To increase the influence of militant power beyond its own borders, Iran has carried out the majority of terror actions through the use of proxies—quasi-independent organizations, that can carry out acts of terror on behalf of Iranian interests. Proxies also have the added benefit of disguising the identity of an attack’s mastermind.
And they wasted little time before making their murderous impact felt.

IRAN — A CASE STUDY.
`The world’s leading exporter of terrorism’ is one of the ways the US State Department categorizes Iran. What methods does Iran use in sending violence abroad? What, exactly, does `state sponsorship’ mean for the Khomeini regime?
The incidents Iranian terrorism catapulted into view in 1979, with the takeover of the United States Embassy in Tehran and the 444-day hostage-holding ordeal that followed.
In 1983, Islamic Jihad, a Shiite fundamentalist group operating under direct Iranian sponsorship, claimed responsibility for the devastating truck-bombings of the US Marine barracks at Beirut International Airport and of the French paratroop barracks two miles away, killing a total of 299 servicemen. Payment for those bombings reportedly passed to the terrorists via Iran’s ambassador to Syria, Ali Akbar Mohtashami.
Later that year, Islamic Jihad exploded six bombs in Kuwait, including one at the US Embassy.
In July 1984, an Air France plane was hijacked and flown to Tehran; in December a Kuwaiti airliner was also hijacked to Tehran, where two American passengers were killed. The hijackers were reportedly driven from the airport in a limousine. By year’s end, terrorism experts had counted more than 50 attacks involving Iranian support.
The major event of 1985 was the hijacking of TWA 847 to Beirut by members of the radical Shiite group Hizbullah (Party of God), who were later joined by members of a more moderate Shiite group, Amal. The funding
According to a Washington representative of the People’s Mujahideen Organization of Iran (a Paris-based opposition group that asserts it will overthrow the Khomeini regime within 18 months), Tehran is providing substantial financial support to terrorist groups in Lebanon. The spokesman claims that much of this support flows to three major Shiite groups: Hizbullah, Amal, and Tawheed. He cites reports in the Iranian government newspaper, Jomhouri, and Europe’s leading Arabic-language newspaper, Al Arab, that Iran has given about $20 million to such groups. The training
According to a report on state-sponsored terrorism prepared last summer for the US Senate Judiciary Committee, some 2,000 terrorists from more than 20 Islamic countries have received tactical training in Iran’s holy city of Qom. Between 300 and 500 Shiites from Lebanon and Iraq have also received religious, political, and military training at Qom, which also appears to be the center for training suicide drivers.

Clinton slams Iran as major exporter of terror
Washington (CNN) — With signs of growing international support for pressure on Iran, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lashed out at Tehran and the Revolutionary Guard military corps Friday, calling the country “the major supporter, promoter and exporter of terrorism in the world today.”
Clinton, responding to a question from a Latin American audience at the State Department about growing Iranian influence in Latin America, said Iran’s Revolutionary Guard “is increasing its control over the country because of the elections which were a stark example of the abuse of human rights in action.”
The Revolutionary Guard, she said, “is deeply involved in the economy as well as the security issues of Iran. And I think if people want to flirt with Iran, they should take a look at what the consequences might well be for them, and we hope that they will think twice, and we are going to support them if they do.”
Clinton said she was “well aware” of Iran’s interest in promoting itself with a number of other countries, naming Venezuela and Bolivia specifically.
“We can only say that, that is a really bad idea for the countries involved,” she said.

Israel accuses Iran of attacks in Delhi and Tbilisi
Israel’s prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has accused Iran of being behind twin attacks on Israeli targets in India and Georgia in a further escalation of tensions between the two countries.
The attacks on Monday, in which four people were injured, followed a warning from Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, earlier this month that the Islamic Republic would retaliate against international sanctions and would back any nation or group that sought to confront Israel.
In Delhi, witnesses said they saw assailants on motorcycles attaching a device to a car when it stopped at a traffic light. In the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, an Israeli embassy driver discovered a device planted on the underside of his car.
Within hours of the apparently co-ordinated attacks in the Indian and Georgian capitals, Netanyahu said: “The elements behind these attacks were Iran and its protege, Hezbollah.”
Tehran, he added, was the largest exporter of terror in the world and was also responsible for recent attempted assaults on Israeli targets in Azerbaijan and Thailand. Israel, he said, would act with a strong hand.

Ghasem Suleimani: exporting terrorism & warmongering are mullahs’ “main characteristic”
In an interview on Thursday, February 13th, Ghasem Suleimani, head of the Revolutionary Guards terrorist Quds Force, emphasized on continuing terrorist policies and warmongering, adding this is amongst the regime’s main characteristics.
Suleimaini also delivered a speech in Semnan on the anniversary of the death of Hassan Shateri, a senior Quds Force commander killed by Syrian rebels on his path from Damascus to Lebanon.
“Supporting fighters and Islamic currents, and defending Muslims against aggression against Islam are two exclusive characteristics of the Islamic republic,” he said in demagogic manner.
Amidst the regime’s back to back nuclear retreats, Suleimani also attempted to depict the regime’s and strength by resorting again to these characteristics of terrorism and warmongering by describing them as the “regime’s upper hand” in the region.
“Countries that claim to lead the Islamic world, for decades to come they will not be able to take our place as the leader of the Islamic world, because of these two characteristics,” he said.
Suleimani also referred to the regime’s warmongering in Lebanon, Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq in saying, “These are characteristics of the country’s role”.
Ya mean, why doesn’t he name an arbitrary date as would Øbama?
