Germany beat someone the other day 7-1. In football that would be 49-7. A 14-7 football game wouldn’t raise eyebrows at all. You can find links to hundreds of them.
7-0 is not an unheard of football score, either. It’s not common, but fans don’t say they’re quitting football over it.
One of the announcers said at the beginning that it won’t be a 7-1 game like the one against Brazil. I expected it to end 1-0 for Germany in the last minute. Both teams actually were good, because the purpose is to get the ball into the opponent team’s net and score and to prevent the other team from scoring
1-0. Must have been more exciting than The Catch. Can’t believe I missed it. What was I thinking?!
