That is exactly what is happening. And Obama probably doesn’t care to do a thing about it.
Putin a globalist? Who knew? What will the Paultards have to say now?
The cold war bipolar world ended so the question is what comes/came after that. A multipolar world or a unipolar world.
As we entered the post cold war period, the NeoCon republicans began to ascend advocating the unipolar world with the US at the top. The US won the cold war, was the last remaining super power, thus, the world hegemon.
For the NeoCons, multipolar/multilateral is weakness, is "leading from behind". Multilateralism as the UN or NATO are destined to failure and a world order based on a unipolar hierarchy of power with the US at the top is the only viable world order.
So we went down that road but things didn't work out for the NeoCons in Iraq and Afghanistan but they(Cheney, Kristol, Wolfowitz, Bremmer, et al) now are saying we need to re-invade Iraq. Or we need to invade Ukraine. Or Syria. Or Iran. Or blow China out of the water in the South China Sea.
And if we could just give up on Social Security and Medicare, we would have the money to do it.
Same as the GOP new world order puppets.
We have absolutely NO expectations that President Chickensh*t has ever heard of, let alone intends to enforce, the Monroe Doctrine.
Our liberal globalist folks, who cheerlead the EU in Ukraine...should be happy with Putin going Globalist
One ring will rule them all.
Putin beats Obama to the announcement.
BUT Ukraine supporters DON’T support Putin’s pro-Communist anti-American globalism, so maybe they’re not globalists after all?
Maybe our commie Putin cheerleaders are actually the real globalists.
After most of the great powers were destroyed by the great war, the multipolar globalist League of Nations bungled the post-war peace so badly that it led to an even greater war, the greatest war ever.
The ensuing bipolar Cold War world was far more stable and peaceful than the previous multipolar world. While the bipolar world did not prevent wars entirely, the limited wars the US fought in Korea and Viet Nam were nowhere near as destructive and cataclysmic as World War one or two.
The post-Cold War unipolar world has been even more stable and peaceful than the bipolar world. Many Americans have died fighting wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, but nowhere near as many as in Korea and Viet Nam.
The concept of a multipolar world is a backwards idea which has been tried and failed. A multipolar world has been proved to be far more unstable and dangerous than a bipolar world, and the unipolar world has proved to be the most peaceful and stable of all worlds.
We did it all without rolling back the welfare state at all. George W. Bush even expanded medicare. Indeed, neo-conservatives are known to be in favor of FDR's New Deal. The strongest opponents of social security and medicare are libertarians, who are also the strongest opponents of American global power.
Why would any patriotic American want America not to be the most powerful country in the world? Whose side should we be on if not America's?
The war in Iraq was carried out by a multilateral coalition made up of America's closest allies. The war in Afghanistan was carried out by NATO. Indeed NATO is hated by Putin and his motley gang of multipolarist communist rogue states, precisely because NATO is the most powerful military alliance in history, and therefore the cornerstone of America's global military dominance.
Death of the Monroe Doctrine.
