Taliban militants in Afghanistan have warned ISIS insurgents fighting in Iraq to avoid extremism in a plea for unity among jihadists.
It urged the Sunni faction, which has been waging a bloody insurgency against Shiite Muslim groups in Iraq, to avoid distrusting other Islamist groups.
Commanders of the al-Qaeda-linked group also pleaded with the fighters of ISIS, which recently declared an Islamic Caliphate in its captured territory, to respect the rule of law.
ISIS began life as an offshoot of al-Qaeda, but was disowned by the global terror network after bolstering its strength by merging with other groups in Syria.
The call for unity was uploaded to the Afghan Talibans website this week. It did not name ISIS directly, but clearly referred to the group, who are now thought to be the worlds most powerful jihadists.
The message, originally in Arabic, said: It is worthy for a shurah (consultation) council to be formed from the leaders of all the jihadi factions and the distinguished people among the experts and the scholars in Sham (Syria) in order to solve their conflicts.
Muslims also should avoid extremism in religion, and judging others without evidence, and distrusting one another, it said. . .
I know that this is series, but I LMAO over the headline.
bttt
There was a leaked videotape a few months back where ISIS leaders actually condemn the Taliban as apostate traitors (which warrants the death sentence in Islam), because the Taliban tried joining the UN at one point in time.
Their justification being that as Muslims, the Taliban seeking to be bound by the “kuffar” (infidel) laws of the UN made them insufficiently pure traitors. Never mind the obvious, one strike and you’re out.
This is a special breed of Islamist historically known as the Khawarij in Islam. Muslims who were so zealous, they read the Koran and concluded that all impure Muslims (most of them) were actually apostates and must therefore be killed or forcibly converted. The Khawarij rampaged through other Muslim lands until they were exterminated by their enemies.
It's the logical conclusion of a satanic design.
Extremists telling extremists not to be extreme. How extreme!
Our tax dollars at work. (elections have consequences)
The more extreme the Islam, the more true to the Qur’an.
"I do my killing after breakfast, eight O'clock"
It is that unfortunate fact that seems to escape 99% of our public officials, politicians, and religious leaders.
You are absolutely correct.
