Adelson, Buffett, Gates: Wealthy Trio Pushes Citizenship for Illegals
The New American ^ | Friday, 11 July 2014 | Warren Mass

Posted on 07/11/2014 4:08:45 PM PDT by Resettozero

In a July 10 op-ed piece in the New York Times, three of America’s wealthiest and most powerful business magnates — Sheldon Adelson, Warren Buffett, and Bill Gates — lamented that “immigration reform” legislation is having such difficulty in getting though Congress.

After praising two aspects (the “talented graduate” provision and the “pathway to citizenship,” or amnesty provision) of the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” bill that the Senate approved last June 27 by a 68-to-32 vote, the three men called for the House to follow suit:

Whatever the precise provisions of a law, it’s time for the House to draft and pass a bill that reflects both our country’s humanity and its self-interest. Differences with the Senate should be hammered out by members of a conference committee, committed to a deal.

Continuing their plea, Adelson, Buffett, and Gates wrote:

Signs of a more productive attitude in Washington — which passage of a well-designed immigration bill would provide — might well lift spirits and thereby stimulate the economy. It’s time for 535 of America’s citizens to remember what they owe to the 318 million who employ them.

Both the Senate bill (S. 744) passed in 2013, and the House version (H.R. 15) that has stalled (precisely because it echoes the same flaws as the Senate bill), are titled the “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act.” Among the 32 senators voting against the bill were such outspoken opponents of granting amnesty to illegal immigrants as Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Rand Paul (R-Ken.), Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), and Richard Shelby (R-Ala.).

They're banking heavily on this regime's continued success. Are they ever in for a surprise!

That’s because it doesn’t affect them in the slightest, so it must be good for everyone else.

For future reference: whenever a billionaire speaks, IGNORE them

Plouffy bragged in a WSJ column this week how the Hispanic influx will turn Arizona, Georgia, and eventually Texas blue and produce a permanent Democrat rule.

Sheldon Adelson: “These American peasants are revolting!”
Warren Buffett: “Yes. We need some new peasants.”
Bill Gates: “Hear, hear!”

Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are cut from the same cloth as the evil George Soros so it's no surprise they would support an enemy invasion. But Sheldon Adelson? I was under the impression that he was good man: pro-God, pro-family, pro-Israel and pro-gun. I always perceived he was a Patriot in alliance with Koch Brothers. Like our host, Mr. Jim Robinson, Adelson was a solid supporter of the Newt Gingrich presidential campaign in 2012.

So what in the world caused Mr. Adelson to suddenly repudiate Conservatism? Or is this another case of the lamestream media trying to take down another Patriot?

Those in charge have a bigger plan than just getting more votes. They already have the rig, the fix, in place to use as needed. Think total transformation of America. (That’s what the man said anyway.)

Newt indicated that to us previously.

Right now, until he clarifies, Adelson appears to have reneged on pledging his sacred honor and fortune to The United States of America and has sold-out finally to the one-world cabal.

Unless you personally know Mr. Adelson very well, why would there be a surprise that a rich guy wants cheap labor?

Isn’t it possible that Adelson and Gingrich are theoretical conservatives but not so much in practice?

Adelson owns mega-casinos which are very labor intensive and hotel workers now seem to be primarily Spanish speakers. I think this is just “rent-seeking” by another GOPe financier.

These billionaires deserve contempt. They do not have to suffer any of the negative aspects of immigration. It’s all good for them! They get to make more money (which they don’t need), while the rest of us see our neighborhoods and schools turned into hostile territory and our jobs destroyed by third world importation.

Note to Bill Gates.

Since you are stating that law is irrelevant, immigration law in this case, then I guess it is open season for pirating software in that intellectual property law will also be irrelevant.

There was never any secret that Adelson was no conservative. Many refused to see it while in the throes of idol worship during the last election but he was saying it outright.

In 2012 he was comparing illegals to Jews facing persecution, said he didn't expect Newt to win but was willing to do what it took to prevent Santorum's extreme views on abortion from reaching the white house. Considering the fact that his wedding chapels perform gay ceremonies I'm guessing he's OK with that too.

What a disappointment and is now looks like I was naive to pin such hopes on Sheldon Adelson, largely due to his support of Newt Gingrich and his pro-Israel stance.

While I can certainly understand his need as a good businessman to right-size labor costs, it should be done by abolishing unions and the minimum wage not by employing enemy invaders. An executive has a fiduciary responsibility to keep costs low to maximize ROI. Sadly, the obaba/holder/jarrett regime continues to punish job creators like Mr. Adelson so they evidently are squeezed into hiring the invaders. Shame on obama and his criminal thugs for setting up this anti-business environment.

Whoa! You were making good points until the phrase "which they don't need" which strikes me as vaguely Marxist ("to each according to their need"). Those who have acquired wealth should have no limit on what additional wealth they can acquire. The free market rightly rewards those who provide products and services. Even here on Free Republic, I've occasionally seen the term "obscene profits". So long as the enterprise isn't criminal, the sky's the limit on profits and wealth acquisition. That's the beauty of liberty.
