McDaniel is fighting the good fight. His supporters have already revealed in abundance that the Cochran campaign plays dirty.
He deserves our support, so even if the powers in Mississippi make him a martyr, his experiences confronting the corrupt GOP-E will not be forgotten elsewhere.
I agree with research99, this case in Mississippi has changed the game.
We now know that this is not a fight between republicans and democrats. This is a fight between republican-democrats and tea party-conservatives.
What has happened and seen cannot be unseen. The bell has already rung and there’s no way to unring the bell.
This is lethal to the republican party.
I do believe we could see a new party emerge and this party would be viable and capable of forming a coalition of the majority.
A realistic estimate of the new majority coalition would comprise:
* 15-20 million of the base (former republicans)
* 18-22 million of independents
* 6 million Perot blue collar voters
* 2 million Reagan democrats
* 2 million libertarians
All in all about 43-52 million voters.
And then there is a ‘wake effect’ of drawing in more republicans after they have searched their hearts and see the viability of the new party.
Although together the democrats and republicans could garner more voters in total, the democrats and republicans would not be able to overcome separately the numbers of the new party, and there is no possibility that those two parties would merge officially any time soon.
What will make all this a reality is about $100 million which is $5-$10 from each voter. It’s doable and yours truly is working on it daily.
They only way he'll maintain support through the process is to have people believe he should be the Senator from Mississippi. JMHO
