Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and a group of House lawmakers are building a case for impeaching Attorney General Eric Holder.
Impeding justice is intolerable and he should not be permitted to refuse the American people a true investigation into the actions of those who used the machinery of government to target, intimate, and silence them for politically driven reasons, Cruz said during a June 26 floor speech.
Cruz had made such comments before, but this speech was different. He spent 40 minutes laying out the case for Holders impeachment spending the bulk of that time on the IRS scandal, but also citing the Justice Departments failure to enforce various laws, the departments Operation Fast and Furious, and Holders role in the administration obtaining journalists phone records.
Cruz demanded that Holder appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the IRS scandal. If [Holder] refuses, Senator Cruz will support measures to move forward with his impeachment, a Cruz aide told NRO.
Representative Paul Gosar (R., Ariz.) raised the idea during a Republican conference meeting Wednesday.
[Boehner] gave us no hint one way or the other, he said, though the speaker publicly opposed the impeachment of Obama on the same day.
Gosar said that he had also spoken with House majority leader Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) and whip Steve Scalise (R., La.) about moving to impeach Holder.
They have not said that they oppose it, Gosar said..............

About time
But only if serious
NBC needs to have a new show this fall..
America’s Got Tyranny
But NBC would probably fail to show it
As its more newsworthy than fantasy.
Impeach!
This is something I’d love to see. We need to bring some sort of justice back to America.
Now see, this I can get behind.
The prospects of getting rid of Holder are much more favorable than impeaching Obammie. I can even imagine some democrats might be willing to throw Holder under the bus while Obama as a target would just never happen.
We conservatives must pick and chose wisely. Pick battles we can win. Palin is correct, of course. Obama should be impeached. But she can say that. She’s no politician with future interests at stake.
Cruz, however is right on target with going after the head crook at the DOJ.
Impeachment sounds good.
Tarred and feathered sounds better.
IMPEACH HOLDER NOW!!!!! Congress can impeach a TON of people that ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOBS!!!! Or will “impeach” them in November!!
Impeaching Holder might be a good (and achievable) way to get to Obama.
Cruz is easily my choice for 2016. He is one of only a few in our congress willing to stand up to the Chicago thugs now in charge of our country.
When I read the entire article I could see that this is much more than simply a few impassioned words from an outraged politician (of Freeper). There is thought going into the process.
I think Cruz spent most of his time on the IRS issue because it is current, building up pressure, and already has a lot of public support behind it (despite the media).
This puts the IRS hearing and comments from Issa in context. The House referred criminal charges against Lerner to the Injustice Department around the 9th of April. Holder has ignored them. They are upping the pressure (with some help from the Judicial Watch freedom of information case, and the True the Vote suit).
Even more disturbing than Holder still in office is the fact that Obama keeps him there.
Holder and Obama should both spend life in a federal prison.
And then imprison.
ITS RACISM, I TELL YA, ITS RACISM!!!!
Holder has been in open defiance of Congressional subpenas for four years. He has already been charged with contempt of Congress, and used his position to taint the proceedings.
Why are we only now discussing impeachment?
